Skeletal System
The parakeet's skeletal system is very different compared to the human skeletal system
The parakeets have many different types of bone that humans don't have like:
- Prefrontal Process
- Maxilla
- Orbital ring
- Postfrontal Process
- Auditory meatus
- Coracoid
- Sternal keel
- Pygo
A Unique Feature that a Parakeet's Bones is a Pygo. It is a bone that holds the tail.
A Parakeet has about 30 or more bones in its body.
Nervous System
What is strange about the Parakeets brain is that it is not wrinkly like a human brain is. It is actually smooth with no wrinkles what so ever.
The Parakeets nervous system is a lot like a human's nervous system despite the size and species.
Digestive System and Nutrition
A Parakeets normal diet is fruit like apples, pears, melon, kiwi, berries, grapes, and oranges. They could also eat vegetables like kale, dandelions leaves, romaine lettuce, and spinach. But mostly you see them eat seeds of different kinds.
What nutrition a Parakeet needs is seeds for fat, a Cuttlebone for calcium, and water.
There are many parts of the Parakeets Digestive system like:
- Oesophagus
- Crop
- Proventriculus
- Gizzard
- Intestine
- Liver
- Pancreas
- Cloaca
There are many differences between the Parakeets Digestive system to a human digestive system
The Parakeet has a Crop while the human on the other hand doesn't
The human has a big Intestine while a parakeet on the other hand doesn't.
The Parakeet has a gizzard while the human doesn't.

Circulatory System
The reproduction of a Parakeet is different from a regular human being.
tttttttttThe average heart beat of a parakeet is 250-600.
Our average heart rate is 207
A parakeets heart rate is faster than a humans heart rate.

Whats werid is that a Parakeet has more air sacs than a human.
Respiratory System
A Parakeet has 80 to 125 breaths per minute is normal for a parakeet.
There are many parts of the respiratory system:
There are many more parts too.
- Trachea
- Syrinx
- Cervical
- Air sac
- Bronchi
- Interclavicular air sac
- Pneumatic humerus
- Anterior thoracic air sac
- lungs
- Posterior Thoracic Sac
- Abdominal Air Sac
There are many more parts too.
Appearance/Anatomy
The Parakeet is very small about 18 cm. (7 in.) long and weighs about 28 to 50 grams
Parakeets come in many colors like yellow, white, blue, green, black, combinations... etc.
It has a wing span of 8 to 10 inches.
It has long claws to grip branches, food, and other stuff.
It has a orange of yellow beak
On its nose is either blue, tan, pink, or orange. It determines either if its a boy or a girl.
